About Mary Shelley

I read about Mary Shelley online.  She was a British novelist.  She also wrote short stories, dramas, and essays.  She was best known for the novel Frankenstein which she wrote in 1818.  She married Percy Shelley in 1814.  They travelled through Europ.  She came up with the idea for the story of Frankenstein while she and her husband were in Switzerland.  She lost three children.  A fourth child survived.  Her husband died in 1822.  She went back to England to raise her son.  She died in 1851 of a brain tumor.  It seems like she went through a lot in her life.  She had many losses at a young age.

  1. yeah it seems like many people back in that era had alot of death and sadness in their lives! Thank god for modern medicine or it would be worse today! Her story really touched me since i have children and to be able to keep your creativity and determination threw times like those is amazing and makes the book more interesting knowing she wrote it.
